What a great weekend we all had celebrating Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Lions Club were due to hold a Big Lunch Street Party down Hamilton Road in the town but as the weather forecast was dubious we relocated to the Leisure Centre. We still had lines of tables and erected gazebos and bunting to give a proper street party feel to the event.
We were pleased that so many families joined us and enjoyed the entertainment. As well as a disco there was a magician/conjuror and lots of children’s games to play. We were joined by the Mayor of Felixstowe, Councillor Sharon Harkin and the pictures show her trying her luck at catching a duck and cutting the jubilee cake. We were also joined by our local MP Dr Therese Coffey – who successfully nabbed one of our feathered friends!
